Back Office Core PS Engineer (On-site / Remote)

Job Description
As an Engineer (Core Network PS) at Nokia, you will play a crucial role in the design, deployment, and maintenance of core network solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the packet-switched core network elements and their integration with various telecommunications systems. Your expertise will contribute to the delivery of reliable and high-quality network services to our customers.

Responsibilities
1. Design and implement packet-switched core network solutions based on customer requirements and industry best practices.
2. Configure and integrate core network elements, including routers, switches, and gateways, ensuring their proper functionality and interoperability.
3. Perform network parameter configuration and optimization to enhance performance and efficiency.
4. Conduct network troubleshooting and issue resolution to identify and resolve network faults, service degradations, and other technical issues.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system architects, project managers, and customer support teams, to ensure successful project delivery.
6. Conduct network performance analysis and capacity planning to meet current and future network demands.
7. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network designs, configuration guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
8. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and standards related to core network PS and contribute to the continuous improvement of network solutions.

Qualifications
(Nokia Experience is a plus)
1. Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
2. Solid experience working with Nokia’s core network PS products, such as Nokia Cloud Packet Core (CPC) and Nokia Virtualized Mobile Gateway (vMG).
3. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IP networks, including routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) and IP/MPLS technologies.
4. Strong understanding of mobile network architectures, protocols (e.g., LTE, 5G), and related interfaces (e.g., S1, S11, S5).
5. Experience in network design and implementation, including network elements integration and interoperability testing.
6. Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve network issues.
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to customers.
9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
10. Relevant certifications, such as Nokia Network Routing Specialist II (NRS II), are highly desirable.
